Britax Vision Systems Awarded QS-9000 and ISO 9001 CertificationCLINTON TWP., Mich., Oct. 15 -- Britax Vision Systems (North America) Inc., the leading North American producer of automotive exterior mirrors, has been awarded QS-9000 and ISO 9001 certification at its technical center in Clinton Township, Mich., and manufacturing facility in Marysville, Mich., announced John Ball, president of Britax Vision Systems (North American) Inc. "The certification confirms our ongoing commitment to supply the highest- quality products to our customers," said Ball. "We are proud that our technology center and manufacturing facility have earned this esteemed quality standard." QS-9000 requirements were introduced by Big Three automakers to automotive suppliers in September 1994. The standard is adapted from Ford Motor Co., General Motors and Chrysler Corp. quality requirements; ISO 9001 quality standards are recognized internationally. QS-9000 extends beyond International Standards Organization ISO 9001 requirements. QS-9000 requires suppliers to have approved and implemented quality systems related to OEM customer requirements, including advanced product quality planning. Britax North America began manufacturing automotive exterior mirrors in North America in 1990, producing the industry's first all-plastic exterior mirror. The company, formerly known as Britax Rainsford Inc., is a subsidiary of U.K.-based Britax International plc. SOURCE Britax Vision Systems Inc.
