Federal-Mogul St. Johns, Mich. Facility Honored With Prestigious Awards

    SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Oct. 2 -- Federal-Mogul Corporation's
St. Johns, Michigan engine bearing manufacturing facility, which
this year is celebrating its 50th anniversary, has been honored with two
prestigious awards from its customers.  The Hendrickson Spring Operation in
Stratford, Ontario, Canada presented St. Johns with its World Class Quality
Supplier Award and Deco-Grand, headquartered in Royal Oak, Michigan honored
St. Johns with its Grand Supplier Award.
    "Our employees are highly focused on serving our customers and their
efforts are recognized through these awards," said Mike Verwilst, general
manager, engine and transmission products, Americas.  "We are very proud of
the St. Johns team."
    For the fifth consecutive year, Federal-Mogul has been awarded the World
Class Quality Supplier Award from Hendrickson Spring.  This award is given to
suppliers that exhibit outstanding performance in the areas of quality
assurance, engineering, production, marketing and commercial aspects.
Federal-Mogul supplies Hendrickson Spring with bushings for leaf springs on
heavy duty trucks.
    Federal-Mogul is the first recipient of the Deco-Grand Grand Supplier
Award.  It is awarded to suppliers that exhibit world class stature in
quality, delivery and service.  In 1993, Federal-Mogul St. Johns was named the
Deco-Grand Vendor of the Year.  Federal-Mogul supplies Deco-Grand with
bushings for rocker arm assemblies for Detroit Diesel.
    The St. Johns, Michigan facility manufactures precision bushings and
washers for a wide range of uses including automotive engines and
transmissions, farm and construction equipment, trucks and a variety of other
applications for original equipment and aftermarket customers.  The plant
currently manufactures and ships over one million pieces per day with 4,000
part numbers available.
