Borg-Warner Automotive Names John Lauer to Strategy PostCHICAGO, Sept. 30 -- Borg-Warner Automotive, Inc. has named John C. Lauer to the newly created position of Vice President - BWA Strategy, effective October 1, 1997. The position reports to John F. Fiedler, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, who commented: "The top managers of Borg-Warner Automotive are actively engaged in the development of strategic initiatives to drive growth and leverage our leadership in powertrain products well into the next century. John will have primary responsibility for managing the overall process that will define the company's direction. He will work closely with our executive and strategy teams, and will develop an overall framework from their collective output. John's knowledge and understanding of the global automotive industry, customers, competitors and markets will serve Borg-Warner Automotive well in this new and important assignment." John Lauer was most recently Vice President of Sales and Marketing for the company's Air/Fluid Systems operating group. He has spent his career in the automotive business working for Holley Automotive. Borg-Warner Automotive acquired that business along with other Coltec units in 1996. John has held various management positions with Holley, including ones in process engineering, manufacturing planning, cost estimating and sales and marketing. He has a BA degree in Business Administration from Defiance College, Ohio. Chicago-based Borg-Warner Automotive, Inc. is a product leader in highly engineered components and systems primarily for automotive drivetrain applications.
