Federal-Mogul Confirms T & N plc Announcement

    SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Sept. 26 -- Federal-Mogul Corporation
today confirms the following announcement made this morning by
T & N, plc:
    "T & N plc, the international automotive components and engineering group,
announces that it has received an approach from Federal-Mogul Corporation of
the United States with an indicated value for each T & N share of 235p payable
in cash.
    T & N is considering the approach with its advisers, N M Rothschild & Sons
Limited."
    Federal-Mogul will make a further announcement when appropriate.
    Headquartered in Southfield, Michigan, Federal-Mogul is a $2 billion
global manufacturer and distributor of a broad range of non-discretionary
parts primarily for automobiles, light trucks, heavy trucks, and farm and
construction vehicles.
