EDS And VINnet Collaborate to Help Automotive Retailers Streamline Licensing ProcessTROY, Mich., Sept. 24 -- EDS announced today a collaborative marketing agreement with VINnet, Inc. to offer services that will enable automotive retailers to electronically issue permanent license plates on the spot and eliminate the need for temporary tags. EDS and VINnet will provide services that allow automotive retailers to streamline the process of registering vehicles, recording liens, transferring registrations between vehicles, and verifying information electronically with state motor vehicle agencies. With this customized system, dealership customers purchasing new or used vehicles will be issued permanent plates instead of paper tags at the point of sales, thereby avoiding delays in receiving permanent plates and eliminating the need for temporary tags.
