MascoTech to Open Powder Metal Facility in SpainTAYLOR, Mich., Sept. 16 -- MascoTech Forming Technologies- Sintered Components Division of MascoTech, Inc. has announced plans to construct a new powder metal forging facility in Valencia, Spain. The investment represents the Company's decision to market its successful powder metal connecting rods and other powder metal automotive components in Europe. "This demonstrates MascoTech's commitment to support our customers, globally. The Valencia facility will enable MascoTech to better serve our European customer base and introduce powder metal technology to other European-based vehicle manufacturers," said Lee Gardner, president and chief operating officer. MascoTech Sintered Components Espana S.L. will be located in a new supplier industrial park adjacent to Ford-Valencia, Spain-Engine, Body and Assembly Complex. At full capacity, the facility is expected to employ 200 who will operate several fully-integrated powder metal connecting rod lines with additional capacity for select conventionally processed powder metal components such as engine sprockets and bearing caps.
