ORLANDO, Fla., Sept. 15 -- At Oracle Applications(TM) User
Group (OAUG), Oracle Corp. today announced that its newly-formed Industrial
Sector Vertical will focus on the Automotive industry as one of its key market
segments.
Oracle's primary offering for this market is Oracle Automotive(TM), which
provides a comprehensive extended business solution for both demand and supply
management that leverages the extensive, integrated supply chain functionality
available within Oracle(R) Manufacturing and Oracle Supply Chain Applications.
The complete offering includes an automotive-specific product suite of both
core Oracle Applications and key partner products, global consulting and
implementation services, and worldwide customer support and education.

    Key Oracle Automotive features
Available with Oracle Applications Release 11, Oracle Automotive will

from customer demand transmitted via Electronic Data Interchange (EDI),
through the product manufacturing process to fulfillment of demand. This

component shipping, efficient supplier and customer communications, and full
integration of business processes throughout the supply chain.
This solution also enables companies to "fuel agility" and maximize return
on their investment by synchronizing information flow, product flow and
procurement processes, and also will accelerate the processing of supplier and
customer planning, shipping and sequencing schedules. Oracle's full ERP
solution suite, with expanded automotive functionality, includes:

Automotive EDI transactions to integrate directly with the Oracle
Applications, manages trading partner CUMs and generates Advanced Ship

customer planning, shipping and sequencing schedules resulting in streamlined
communication with the customer and increasing productivity.
