Tenneco Names March Vice President, Investor Relations

    GREENWICH, Conn., Sept. 10 -- Tenneco today named Stanley R.
March Vice President, investor relations.
    March, 38, has been executive assistant to Chairman and Chief Executive
Officer Dana G. Mead for the past year.  Before joining the Tenneco corporate
management team, he was executive director of operations and quality systems.
March joined Tenneco in 1993 as environment and technology services director.
    In his new role, March will manage all aspects of Tenneco's investor
relations operations.  He replaces Jack Lascar, who becomes vice president,
business development for Europe.
    March is a graduate of the United States Military Academy and holds a
master's degree in chemical engineering from Vanderbilt University.  Before
joining Tenneco, he spent 12 years as a U.S. Army engineer.
    March resides in New Canaan, Conn.
