Puroflow Announces Second Quarter Earnings; Sales of High Performance Filters Raises Revenues

VAN NUYS, Calif., Sept. 8 -- Puroflow Inc.
(OTC Bulletin Board: PURO) today announced net income of $192,967, equal to
three cents per share, for the second quarter ended July 31, 1997, compared to
net income of $191,068, equal to five cents per share, for the same period in
1996.
The weighted number of shares increased in the second quarter of 1997 to
7,237,556 from 4,771,021 in the same quarter of 1996 as a result of a private
placement.
Shipments for the second quarter of 1997 increased by 12 percent, due to
high performance filters, which helped offset research and development charges
incurred in developing a new, non-azide passenger-side filter and costs
incurred in material and labor in beginning the new program.
Management believes that the development work on the new program will
substantially enhance its production of filters, and the increased
productivity will be reflected on the bottom line.
Puroflow, Inc. is a leading supplier worldwide of high-performance
filters, which are able to withstand severe environmental conditions, for the
defense, space and commercial aircraft industries, and for the automobile
airbag industry.
