Ford APO Announces New Identity, Organization to Employees

FRANKFURT, Germany, Sept. 8 -- Ford Automotive Products
Operations suspended its operations around the world today for one hour to
reveal its new identity -- Visteon -- via live satellite broadcast to 55,000
of its employees.
Charlie Szuluk, Ford Motor Company group vice president and president,
Visteon, spoke to employees through a global satellite network connecting 45
plants and a number of office sites on three continents. The live
presentation was translated into seven languages and was taped for rebroadcast
to employees in Asia.
"We shut down production for the first time in our history to share our
vision of the future -- our new name, our new way of doing business -- with
our people around the world," Szuluk said.
Szuluk emphasized Visteon's new entrepreneurial spirit and called on all
employees to help build the organization into the world's leading automotive
systems supplier. "We will achieve this by expanding outside sales under our
new identity, Visteon," he said.
The Visteon name, logo, marketing strategy and organization will be
unveiled to the industry on Tuesday, Sept. 9, at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
Details will be provided Tuesday at an 11:30 a.m. (local time) media briefing
in the Fantasie Room at the Frankfurt Fairgrounds.
Visteon, an enterprise of Ford Motor Company , has 78,000
employees located in 74 plants, including 29 joint ventures, and 30 sales
offices, engineering and technical centres in 19 countries around the world.
