Ford APO Announces New Identity, Organization to EmployeesFRANKFURT, Germany, Sept. 8 -- Ford Automotive Products Operations suspended its operations around the world today for one hour to reveal its new identity -- Visteon -- via live satellite broadcast to 55,000 of its employees. Charlie Szuluk, Ford Motor Company group vice president and president, Visteon, spoke to employees through a global satellite network connecting 45 plants and a number of office sites on three continents. The live presentation was translated into seven languages and was taped for rebroadcast to employees in Asia. "We shut down production for the first time in our history to share our vision of the future -- our new name, our new way of doing business -- with our people around the world," Szuluk said. Szuluk emphasized Visteon's new entrepreneurial spirit and called on all employees to help build the organization into the world's leading automotive systems supplier. "We will achieve this by expanding outside sales under our new identity, Visteon," he said. The Visteon name, logo, marketing strategy and organization will be unveiled to the industry on Tuesday, Sept. 9, at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Details will be provided Tuesday at an 11:30 a.m. (local time) media briefing in the Fantasie Room at the Frankfurt Fairgrounds. Visteon, an enterprise of Ford Motor Company , has 78,000 employees located in 74 plants, including 29 joint ventures, and 30 sales offices, engineering and technical centres in 19 countries around the world.
