It's Not Just for Kids, Chrysler Employees Go Back to SchoolAUBURN HILLS, Mich., Sept. 4 -- For Chrysler's employees, the trip from work desk to school desk is just an elevator ride away as they join thousands of students this fall in the trek back to the classroom. In a joint-partnership with Oakland University, Chrysler Corporation is offering a Post-Master's program specifically designed for employees who are looking to further their business education. "We're always looking for ways to motivate our employees to learn and grow in their careers," said James Donlon, Vice-President Controller of Chrysler Corporation. By offering various courses including finance, international business, business economics and human resources at our home facility, the Chrysler Technology Center, employees will find it easier to take classes designed to fit their busy work schedules. "We believe we've come up with a very convenient way for our 'students' to take classes from Oakland University faculty without leaving the Chrysler Technology Center," said Donlon. "The Post-Master Program is designed for our employees, giving them more accessibility and saving them time in obtaining their certificates." Designed for MBA holders who are looking to update their learning and skills to better compete in the business world, the fifteen-credit program is structured for employees to take a class per week. The curriculum will incorporate case studies on Chrysler Corporation and other real life situations. Professors from Oakland University School of Business Administration will provide lectures and tests on a weekly basis. "We encourage our employees to continue with formal education and training even if they already have a degree at the Master's level," said Dan Cowan, Manager of Finance Training and Education. After completing the requirements, "Chrysler graduates" may take part in graduation ceremonies at Oakland University. SOURCE Chrysler Corporation
