Keystone Automotive Industries Acquires Bud's Bumper Service, Inc.

    POMONA, Calif., Sept. 3 -_ Keystone Automotive Industries,
Inc. today announced it has acquired Bud's Bumper Service, Inc.
of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, with annual sales of $2 million.
    Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
    Charles Hogarty, President and Chief Executive Officer of Keystone
Automotive Industries, said "This acquisition, our third of fiscal 1998,
expands our geographic coverage in Florida.  Bud's Bumper fits well with our
strategy of acquiring automotive collision parts facilities with strong
customer bases in areas in which Keystone has not yet penetrated, or locations
where we want to strengthen our penetration and market share."
    Keystone Automotive Industries, Inc. distributes its products in the
United States primarily to collision repair shops through its 78 service
centers, of which 12 serve as regional hubs.  Its product lines consist of
automotive body parts, bumpers, autoglass and remanufactured alloy wheels, as
well as paint and other materials used in repairing a damaged vehicle.  These
products comprise more than 19,000 stock keeping units that are sold to more
than 24,000 repair shops throughout the nation.
