Federal-Mogul's Mexico City Manufacturing Facility Achieves QS-9000 CertificationSOUTHFIELD, Mich., Aug. 29 -- Federal-Mogul Corporation announced today that its chassis products manufacturing facility in Mexico City, Mexico has earned QS-9000 certification, signifying that their management systems have met the stringent quality requirements established by Chrysler, Ford and General Motors. "The attainment of QS-9000 reflects the commitment of Federal-Mogul employees to provide our customers with world class products using the most exacting measures of excellence." The Federal-Mogul chassis products facility in Mexico City manufactures clutch bearings and hanger bearings, king pins, universal joints and power steering pump washers for original equipment and aftermarket customers. In addition to achieving QS-9000, the Mexico City operation was recently designated a Qualified Supplier by Case Corporation, a major manufacturer of agricultural and construction equipment based in Racine, Wisconsin. Federal- Mogul supplies clutch release bearings to Case for use in its tractors and combines. Federal-Mogul's QS-9000 certification assessment was conducted by DNV (Det Norske Veritas Certification, Inc.).
