Lear Appoints Marti Vice President Human Resources - Interior Systems Group

    SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Aug. 26 -- Lear Corporation
today announced the promotion of Annette Marti to the position of Vice
President - Human Resources for the company's Interior Systems Group.  In her
new assignment, Marti will be responsible for the direction of the Human
Resource activity and integration of the Flooring & Acoustics, Interior Trim,
and Metals and Mechanisms divisions.
    Marti, who joined Lear in 1996 as part of the company's acquisition of
Masland Industries, most recently served as Director - Human Resources for the
Masland Division (now referred to as Lear's Interior Systems Group).  Prior to
joining Masland, Marti was employed by Mexican Industries as the Director of
Human Resources and, prior to that, spent five years with GTE Valenite
Corporation in the positions of Manager of Staffing and Development and Human
Resources Manager, respectively.
    Marti holds a Master of Science degree in Administration from Central
Michigan University and a BS degree in Business Administration from Central
Michigan University.
