Lear Corporation Completes Acquisition of ITT Automotive Seat Sub-Systems Unit

    SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Aug. 25 -- Lear Corporation
announced today that it has completed the acquisition of the Seat Sub-Systems
Unit of ITT Automotive, a division of ITT Industries .  The ITT
unit had 1996 sales to non-Lear facilities of approximately $115 million.
