Lucor, Inc. Breaks Ground for Its 100th Service Center

    RALEIGH, N.C., Aug. 15 -- Lucor, Inc. , the
largest Jiffy Lube franchisee in the United States, announced today that it
has broken ground on its one-hundredth auto service center.
The facility is located at 20265 Building E, Cranberry Square, in
Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania. It is expected to be in operation by
November 7, 1997.
"This is an important milestone in the continuing rapid growth of our
corporation and our penetration of new markets," said Stephen P. Conway,
Lucor's chairman and chief executive officer. "As the stores we are building
go into operation and mature, they will raise our revenues and earnings to new
levels."
The company had 99 Jiffy Lube stores in operation as of June 30, 1997,
compared with 76 a year earlier and 38 on the same date in 1995. Mr. Conway
said the expansion program continues, with Lucor expecting to have 125 stores
in operation at the end of 1998.
Lucor is the first franchisee of Jiffy Lube International to become a
public company. Its automotive fast oil change, fluid maintenance and
lubrication centers are situated in North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania,
Tennessee and Michigan.
