Weekend Renters Get a Break At Budget

                    Cool $29 a Day Weekend Rate Available

    LISLE, Ill., Aug. 14 -- Weekend wheels are available for a
cool $29 a day at participating Budget Rent a Car locations across the nation.
    From August 17 through December 17, Budget is offering a special unlimited
mileage $29 a day weekend rate on any car economy through full size at
participating airport and select downtown and suburban Budget locations.
    "We had tremendous success last spring when we offered similar weekend
rates during these less-traveled days," states Mark Sotir, senior vice
president, Worldwide Marketing and Reservation Operations for Budget.  "At
just $29 per day, weekends continue to be a great value at Budget."
    To qualify for this special rate, customers must reserve in advance and
mention either the $29 a day weekend rate or request rate code 'OK' at the
time of booking.  Since availability of cars at this rate is limited,
customers are encouraged to book as early as possible.
    A two day minimum rental is required and the car must be picked up after
noon on Thursday and returned by noon on Monday.  The special weekend rate is
not available with any other discounted rate or promotional offer, and is not
available in Hawaii or the New York City Metro area.  In Florida, the $29 a
day weekend rate is valid on travel only through September 30, 1997. Certain
blackout periods may apply.
    Optional LDW is $16.99 per day or less, where available, depending on car
class. Refueling services, taxes, California vehicle license fee not to exceed
$1.12 per day, 10% or less airport concession fee, surcharges and optional
items are extra.  Local rental and age requirements apply.  Locations that
rent to drivers under the age of 25 may impose an age surcharge.
