Cooper Industries Honors Emery Worldwide with Quality Carrier Award; Re-endorses Emery for Domestic U.S. Air FreightHOUSTON, Aug. 13 /PNRnewswire/ -- Houston-based Cooper Industries has selected Emery Worldwide for its 1996/1997 Quality Carrier Award and has re-endorsed the company in a two-year contract designating Emery as its preferred air freight carrier for domestic U.S. shipments. Cooper Industries manufactures products for the automotive, electrical, construction and power and lighting industries. Emery will provide service for all of the company's eight divisions, including, Bussmann, Cooper Automotive, Cooper Hand Tools, Cooper Lighting, Cooper Power Tools, Crouse- Hinds and Moog Automotive. According to Paul Tharp, manager of transportation for the Crouse-Hinds Division of Cooper Industries, Emery was selected for the award based on overall service, coverage, customer support, claims resolution, pricing, accuracy of invoicing and financial stability. "Emery's proven ability to serve our customers, its competitive pricing and overall performance convinced us to extend our partnership for another two years," said Tharp. Emery has been a primary carrier for Cooper for approximately six years, moving parts and products as diverse as automobile parts, tools, electrical apparatus and lighting fixtures to manufacturing facilities and Cooper customers nationwide. Emery also provides Cooper with selected international air freight service. Under the new contract, the carrier will continue to move parts and finished product from suppliers, as well as among various Cooper facilities and to Cooper customers.
