Exhibit Space for 1998 SAE Congress and Exposition Sold Out; 21 of Top 25 Auto Suppliers Scheduled to Participate

WARRENDALE, Pa., Aug. 12 -- Exposition space at the 1998 SAE
International Congress & Exposition is sold out according to Pat Grandle,
Marketing Manager, Tricon Industries, Inc., and the SAE '98 Exhibits
Chairperson.
"This year's SAE Show will be the largest is the 93-year old history of
the event," said Grandle. "Twenty-one of the top twenty-five global
automotive suppliers will exhibit at the 1998 SAE Congress. This statistic is
testimony to the fact that the SAE Congress is the world's largest and most
significant industry event for automotive engineers and the Tier I, II and III
supplier companies who provide automobile components and systems."
International participation in the 1998 SAE Exposition is at an all time
high, according to Grandle. The show will feature both an International and a
European Pavilion. Groups from SAE China, SAE Brazil, SAE Australasia, the
Verband der Automobilindustrie of Germany, the Commercial Embassy of Spain,
Taiwan Trade Center, Central Estero Camere Commercio of Italy, the Lyon
Chamber of Commerce for France and SAE Mexico will participate also. In
addition, companies from Japan, Sweden, the Netherlands, SMMT/British
Consulate, and Belgium will be represented.
Last February, the Exhibits Group of the SAE's Engineering Meetings Board
approved an expansion of the SAE '98 Exposition. To accommodate the
expansion, the SAE Annual Banquet, typically held in Wayne Hall at Cobo
Center, will be moved to the Riverfront Ballroom. The change expanded
available exhibit space from the current 300,000 net square feet (NSF) to
350,000 NSF. The announcement is the conclusion of three years of ongoing
discussions that include banquet attendee feedback and member group
interactions.
Available seating at the SAE Annual Banquet will be limited to less than
2,000 seats due to the location change. Information on purchasing Banquet
tickets will be mailed to last year's Banquet ticket purchasers in early
September.
SAE '98 will be held February 23-26 at Cobo Center, Detroit, Michigan,
USA. To be placed on the exhibitor wait list, contact SAE Exposition
Management at 412-772-7178. Inquires about the Annual Banquet may be directed
to Ginny Whipple at 412-772-7168. For information on attending and
