McCann-Erickson Detroit Names Management Supervisor On GMC Pickups, Vans and Commercial TrucksTROY, Mich., Aug. 12 -- McCann-Erickson Detroit has appointed Gene Hunt to the positions of senior vice president and group account director on GMC trucks. "Possessing a wide range of knowledge and relevant experience, Gene is a meaningful addition to McCann-Erickson's GMC team," said Gunnar Wilmot, McCann-Erickson Worldwide executive vice president. "He will help us meet our goal of creating advertising that is the most effective in influencing people and selling products." Garnering more than 17 years of automotive experience, Hunt comes to McCann-Erickson from the firm of Ogilvy and Mather. At Ogilvy and Mather, he held the titles of senior vice president and management supervisor, responsible for all Ford customer service brand marketing and advertising activities. He began his career at Young & Rubicam working on the Lincoln-Mercury account. Subsequently, Hunt spent the next 10 years with Grey Advertising involved on the Mitsubishi account, working on both the national and regional (dealer associations) aspects of the business.
