Toyota's Cincinnati Region Posts Strong July Sales

    CINCINNATI, Aug. 6 -- Toyota's Cincinnati Region car and
truck sales for July were 9,321, a 15 percent increase over July's 1996 total
of 8,121.
    North American-built Corollas and Camrys in July were up 27 percent and 14
percent, respectively, with sales of 3,376 and 2,170.  4Runner sales of 943
represented a 75 percent gain over last July.  RAV4 had a sales increase of 40
percent, with 635 vehicles sold.  Toyota Tacoma truck sales were 1,059, a 39
percent increase over July's 1996 total of 761.
    "July was an excellent month for car and truck sales," said Mike Reding,
general manager of Toyota's Cincinnati Region.  "The top selling Camry and
Corolla continue to provide the consumer with excellent values.  We are
confident the sales momentum will continue."
    The Toyota Cincinnati Region includes 118 Toyota dealers in Ohio,
Kentucky, Tennessee and Michigan's lower peninsula.
