Toyota's Kansas City Region Posts Strong July Sales

    KANSAS CITY, Mo., Aug. 5 -- Toyota's Kansas City Region car
and truck sales for July were 2,502, a 16 percent increase over July 1996's
total of 2,153.
    The North American-built Corollas and Camrys in July were up 29 percent
and 10 percent, respectively, with sales of 913 and 415.  Toyota RAV4 had
sales of 202, a 73 percent increase over its 117 sales in July 1996.  Toyota
4Runner sales of 241 reflected a 71 percent gain over last July's 117 sales.
Toyota pickup truck sales totalled 403, a 32 percent increase over July's 1996
total of 305.
    "We had an excellent month for both car and truck sales," said Bruce
Ertmann, general manager of Toyota's Kansas City Region.  "The top selling
Camry and Corolla continue to provide the consumer with excellent values.  We
are confident the sales momentum will continue."
    The Toyota Kansas City Region includes 75 dealers in North and South
Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa and Missouri.
