Porsche U.S. Sales Up 97% Year-to-Date

                     July Increase is 152% Over July 1996

    RENO, Nev., Aug. 4 -- Porsche sales in the United States are
up 97% over the first seven months of 1996, according to figures released
today by Porsche Cars North America.  July 1997 numbers reflect an increase of
152% over the same month a year ago.
