Lexus Reports Record July Sales; ES 300 Enjoys Best Sales Month Ever

    TORRANCE, Calif., Aug. 1 -- Lexus today reported best-ever
July sales of 9,291 units, a 42.7 percent increase over the same period last
year.  Year-to-date Lexus sales continue to thrive with 53,559 units sold, a
20.3 percent increase over last year.
    The ES 300 sedan posted its best-ever month with 6,342 units sold, an
increase of 90.1 percent. Year-to-date ES 300 sales totaled 34,502 units, a
46.2 percent increase over last year's record pace. The redesigned ES 300 has
consistently posted strong sales since its launch last Fall.
    The SC 300 Sport Coupe enjoyed another strong month with sales of 288
units, representing an increase of 67.4 percent. Year-to-date sales of the SC
400/300 Sport Coupes are up 37 percent from last year.
    The LX 450 sport utility vehicle also posted strong July sales with 687
units sold, a 13.9 percent increase. Total year-to-date LX 450 sales are five
percent higher than last year.
