Ford Honored as Top 'IT' PerformerDEARBORN, Mich., Aug. 1 -- What do Microsoft, Intel, and Ford have in common? They're each among the top 100 Information Technology (IT) performers according to CIO, the magazine for information executives. Ford is the only automaker to receive this distinction. CIO Magazine identifies companies that exemplify the highest level of IT excellence. CIO asked over 3,000 high-level IT executives from diverse industries to identify the most successful and innovative IT organizations. Respondents ranked them on five criteria: Infrastructure Management, Internal Customer Support, Internal Operation, IT & Business Alignment, and Innovation & Learning. "We're pleased that CIO has once again recognized our IT performance," says Bud Mathaisel, Ford's CIO. "It reflects a transformation initiated years ago, and is a tribute to the efforts of our IT community and user base. Our progress to date forms a strong foundation for Ford's future initiatives that will help deliver higher quality, value-driven products to our customers." CIO annually ranks the top 100 companies for different IT achievements (i.e., innovation, quality, customer service). Ford has been on the list eight of the last ten years, making it the second most frequently recognized company. SOURCE Ford Motor Company
