Asta Funding Announces $21 Million Securitization

    ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J., July 30 -- Asta Funding, Inc., a
sub-prime automobile lender headquartered in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey,
announced today that it securitized approximately $15.9 million of existing
automobile receivables and an additional $5.2 million of such receivables to
be sold within ninety days.  This $21.1 million securitization is the second
securitization accomplished through Greenwich Capital Markets, Inc. and is
part of a $200 million program with Greenwich.
