Defiance, Inc. Names Nash President of Defiance Precision Products SubsidiaryCLEVELAND, July 24 -- Defiance, Inc. announced the appointment of Stephen E. Nash as president of its largest subsidiary, Defiance Precision Products, Inc. Over the next few weeks, he will phase out as president of Defiance's Tooling Systems companies, a position he has held since joining Defiance, Inc. in 1993. A search is underway for a new president at Tooling Systems, which is based in Detroit. Defiance Precision Products, based in Defiance, Ohio, designs and manufactures specialty anti-friction bearings and precision- machined products for the U.S. automotive and truck industry. Prior to joining Defiance, Nash, (43), spent 13 years with Federal-Mogul Corporation, where he held general management responsibilities for product engineering, application engineering, research and development activities and advanced manufacturing development in the area of engine bearings, bushings and seals. He also worked in the International Group at Federal-Mogul as an engineering manager with responsibilities reaching to Europe and Mexico. Earlier, he held responsibilities as engineering manager, plant quality manager and design and research engineering at Microdot's Selastomer Division. He has also owned and managed several small businesses, and holds U.S. patents in the fields of metal forming, tools and mold design and materials selection.
