GenCorp Board Declares Dividend

    FAIRLAWN, Ohio, July 18 -- Today the Board of Directors of
GenCorp Inc. declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.15 per share
on the issued and outstanding $0.10 par value common stock of the Company
payable August 29, 1997 to shareholders of record on August 1, 1997.
    GenCorp is a technology-driven manufacturing company with strong positions
in numerous polymer markets, as well as the automotive and aerospace and
defense industries.
