Lear Corporation Redeems 11-1/4 Percent Notes

    SOUTHFIELD, Mich., July 15 -- Lear Corporation
announced today that it has redeemed its 11-1/4 percent senior subordinated
notes due July  15, 2000.  The outstanding notes were redeemed at 100 percent
of the principal amount, $125 million.  The Company funded the redemption with
borrowings under its existing line of credit.
