CMI-Dearborn Receives Honda's Delivery Performance Award

    MONTAGUE, Mich., July 10 -- The employees of CMI-Dearborn,
Inc., a subsidiary of CMI International, Inc. located in Montague, Michigan,
were presented with an award for Outstanding Achievement in Delivery
Performance from Honda of America Manufacturing.  Making the presentation to
the employees of CMI-Dearborn was Jim Wehrman, Senior Manager of Purchasing
from Honda's Anna, Ohio engine plant.
    CMI-Dearborn was one of only 24 North American suppliers to receive the
Delivery Performance award.  To qualify for this award, the supplier must meet
100 percent on time delivery, which means no early shipments or late
shipments, plus meet Honda's quality average.  Honda sets their standard for
quality at 100 parts per million maximum rejection rate; CMI-Dearborn far
exceeds that standard with 33 parts per million.
    "Receiving recognition from Honda is a culmination of hard work and
dedication on the part of CMI-Dearborn's employees," said David Cook,
CMI-Dearborn plant manager.  "This demonstrates our pledge to even higher
levels of customer satisfaction."
    CMI-Dearborn supplies Honda with machined exhaust manifolds for the Civic
and Accord models.  CMI-Dearborn is a major producer of machined components,
such as exhaust manifolds as well as steering knuckles and spindles for the
automotive Industry.  In addition, CMI-Dearborn has demonstrated its
commitment to quality and continuous improvement by achieving ISO 9001 and
QS-9000 registration.
