Ford Board Forms Committee for Environmental and Public Policy Issues: Bill Ford to Head CommitteeDEARBORN, Mich., July 10 -- A new committee of the Ford Board of Directors has been formed that will review company strategies on environmental and public policy issues. Membership will be comprised of outside directors and the committee will be chaired by William Clay Ford, Jr., who also is chairman of the Finance Committee. "Ford has always been responsible and active in taking thoughtful positions and actions in those areas of the business that directly affect the public well-being, such as its commitments in environmental matters," said Ford Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Alex Trotman. "With major environmental issues being debated around the world, the Board felt it was the right time to designate a specific committee of outside directors that would focus on these and other public policy subjects to assure oversight of our company's strategies, plans and activities. Bill Ford has agreed to chair the committee and Roberto Goizueta, Ellen Marram and Homer Neal have agreed to serve on it with him." "These issues are important today and will be at the forefront of policy issues well into the next century," said Bill Ford. "They are important not only to Ford but to society as a whole". The new committee will meet three or four times each year and will review all aspects of the company's policies and practices. From time to time, the committee will report and make recommendations to the full Board. SOURCE Ford Motor Company
