Chrysler Frame Supplier Metalsa, S.A. de C.V. Approves QS-9000 Quality Assessment

    DETROIT, July 1 -- We are pleased to announce that on
June 26th 1997, our Assembly and Stamping operations for Chrysler T-300 Ram
pick-up truck chassis-frame in Apodaca, Nuevo Leon, Mexico has approved the
Quality System Assessment for QS-9000 quality standard.  This certification
process is conducted by the QS-9000 registrar agency Smithers Quality
Assessments based in Akron, Ohio.
    Metalsa is one of the first companies in Mexico to accomplish QS-9000
standard and has achieved this goal more than a month ahead of the date
required by Chrysler Corporation for its suppliers.  QS-9000 specifies the
requirements for a world class quality system for the automotive industry.
    Metalsa supplies frames to the Chrysler plants located in Saint Louis,
Missouri; Warren, Michigan; Mexico City and Saltillo, Mexico.
    This accomplishment shows the commitment Metalsa, S.A. has in providing
world class products and service to its customers as is stated in its work
