Standard Products Names Former President of Rockwell Automotive as Its Vice Chairman and Chief Executive OfficerDEARBORN, Mich., July 1 -- The Standard Products Co. today announced that Ronald L. Roudebush has been selected as the Company's new vice chairman and chief executive officer as well as a member of the Company's Board of Directors. His formal election to the three positions will take place when Directors meet on July 24, 1997. James S. Reid Jr., 71, chairman and chief executive officer of Standard Products Company, will continue to serve the Company as chairman of the board and in an advisory capacity. Reid has been chief executive of the Company since 1962. Under Reid's leadership, the Company grew from a domestic auto supplier with six plants and $37.6 million in annual sales to a leading international automotive components manufacturer with 40 facilities and sales of $1.1 billion. Theodore K. Zampetis, 51, will continue as president and chief operating officer, a position that he has held since 1991, the same year he was elected to the Company's Board of Directors. Roudebush, 50, has spent over 30 years in the automotive industry holding various positions including president and general manager of Rockwell Automotive between 1991 and 1994, overseeing the-then $2.8 billion diversified, global component supplier to the automotive and truck industry. "Ron Roudebush's diverse experience in the automotive industry will help us better and more effectively respond to the global complexities that we encounter with our worldwide customer base," said Reid. "Together with Ted Zampetis, Standard Products has a top management team, a management team that can lead the Company into the 21st century." For the past two years, Roudebush has been the owner of a retail automobile dealership in Cincinnati, Ohio. Roudebush joined Rockwell in 1973 and held various financial, manufacturing, operational, staff, and general management positions that included President, On-Highway Products. He also served as vice president of three divisions: Highway Brakes and Axle Division, Service Parts and Automotive Electronics Division, and Heavy Vehicle Components Operation. Roudebush received his Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering in 1970 from GMI Engineering and Management Institute. That same year, he also received his Masters of Science degree in industrial management from the Krannert School at Purdue University. Roudebush currently serves on the Board of Directors of Simpson Industries, Inc., and the GMI Engineering and Management Institute. He is an active member of the Society of Automotive Engineers. Standard Products manufactures sealing, trimming and vibration control systems for the automotive original equipment industry in North and South America and Europe. Its Holm Industries subsidiary produces seals for residential refrigerators, freezers, doors and windows.
