Goodyear, Bridgestone Agree To Settle Ad Lawsuit

    AKRON, Ohio, June 30 -- The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company
and Bridgestone/Firestone, Inc., reached agreement on Friday, June 27, to
settle Goodyear's lawsuit challenging Bridgestone/Firestone's advertising
campaign comparing its FT70c tire and Goodyear's Aquatred II tire.
    Bridgestone/Firestone agreed to end its comparative advertising campaign
on Sunday, June 29.
    Other terms of the settlement are not being disclosed.
