Defiance, MIRA Sign Joint Operating Agreement For 'NVH' Testing and Consulting ServicesTROY and PLYMOUTH, Mich., May 19 -- Two leaders in automotive engineering, refinement and testing, Defiance Testing & Engineering Services, Inc., of Troy, Mich., and MIRA North America of Plymouth, Mich., have signed a joint marketing and operating agreement for noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) services in North America. The agreement calls for the two companies to join forces to provide automobile manufacturers and their suppliers in the United States, Canada and Mexico with a single source for all NVH consulting and testing services. The agreement became effective in May 1997. A wholly owned subsidiary of Cleveland, Ohio-based Defiance, Inc. , Defiance Testing & Engineering Services has been providing full-service engineering support to global automakers and component suppliers since its establishment in 1976. Defiance Testing & Engineering Services is known for its independent perspective in providing product engineering, NVH and durability testing services. The organization has an array of NVH capabilities, utilizing testing equipment such as a full-vehicle anechoic chamber, chassis dynamometer, quiet room and engineering analysis tools at its Troy and Westland, Mich. facilities. MIRA North America is a wholly owned subsidiary of The Motor Industry Research Association (MIRA), a parent company that has been providing the international automobile industry with engineering consulting services since 1946.
