  • Glenn "Fireball" Roberts (1962), Cale Yarborough (1984), and Bill Elliott (1985) are the only drivers to score a "slam" in Daytona 500 activities by winning the pole, becoming the fastest qualifier, winning a qualifying race, and the Daytona 500.

  • Cale Yarborough has the only two ""triple" awards in Daytona 500 history. He won the pole, was the fastest qualifier and won the Daytona 500 in 1968 (both qualifying races were rained out). He also won a qualifying race, the IROC race and the Daytona 500 in 1977.

  • Glenn "Fireball" Roberts (1962), Richard Petty (1966), Cale Yarborough (1968 & 1984), Buddy Baker (1980) and Bill Elliott (1985 & 1987) are the only drivers to win the Daytona 500 from the pole.

  • Petty Enterprises has won 9 Daytona 500s, followed by the Woods Brothers 4.

  • Richard Petty leads all drivers with 7 Daytona 500 victories, Cale Yarborough recorded 4 and Bobby Allison 3.

  • Buddy Baker and Cale Yarborough are tied with 4 career Daytona 500 poles. Bill Elliott and Ken Schrader currently have 3 poles apiece.

  • Dale Earnhardt leads all drivers with combined victories at Daytona. Adding up his victories at Daytona id pretty impressive:

The Daytona 500 continues to elude Earnhardt, even though he has finished second three times.
