"I've got two broken ribs," said Geoff Bodine, driver if the QVC Ford Thunderbird. Bodine visited the doctor on Friday and was surprised at the news. He suffered some pain following his accident during the Daytona 500 - but he didn't think he broke anything.

"As far a Sunday goes, I really don't know. I guess I'll try and start it if I'm not hurting too much. and, if I do, let Todd (his younger brother) get in it as quick as possible. The valuable Winston Cup championship points will be awarded to Geoff if he can start the race then hand over the duties to Todd.

On the possibility that he will drive his brother's car, Todd commented, "It's sounding more and more like it because now Geoff is talking about setups."

Todd qualified the QVC Thunderbird during qualifying on Friday and put the car into the 33rd starting position. Todd is currently driving on the Busch Series this year with the #81 Protech team after losing his ride with the #75 Winston Cup team owned by Butch Mock last year. Todd finished 10th in the Goodwrench Service 200 Busch race run Saturday.
