RICK MAST - 1- Hooters Grand Prix - Qualified 11th
BOBBY HAMILTON - 43- STP Grand Prix - Qualified 23thThis is a car we've re-skinned. We did the body a little differently, trying to overcome some of the balance problems we've got. The car needs a little more downforce in front. This car was built specifically to battle that. It looks like we're headed in the right direction as far as qualifying goes. Now we've got to do it Sunday. The car never bobbled. I got out of the gas for about a half-a-second in turn-one, and a half-a-second in three. The rest of the time I was wide open. I was pretty happy that.
KYLE PETTY - 42- Coors Light Grand Prix - Qualified 39thIt felt good. There was a lot of sand blowing across the race track as usual here/ We came here and tested and the race track was clean. I was talking to Dale Jarrett when we were down here and I said, 'Have you ever seen the track so clean?' He said, 'They'll haul a truck load of sand in here when we get ready to qualify.' But the car felt good. I can't think of anything we could have done differently. We're on the front straightaway. We'll see what happens. It felt good. I about wrecked in turn two. I just got real loose. It was my fault. That killed any kind of lap we might have had.
