Miami -- The Panoz/Sanchez Group (PSG) and the Trans-Am Series today announced that Simple Green, the world's leading product line of environmentally safe cleaning products, will once again be a sponsor of the Trans-Am Series. Simple Green will sponsor the Trans-Am Series’ Clean-Up Award, its highly-trained emergency crew, the Rapid Response Team and will also be the Official Cleaner Degreaser of the series.

“We are delighted that Simple Green will once again play a significant sponsorship role in the Trans-Am Series,” said Ralph Sanchez, president of the Panoz/Sanchez Group.

“We’re pleased to bring our corporate philosophy of quality, environmentally sensitive products to the Trans-Am Series,” said Mark Carter, Simple Green Director of Marketing. “Our sponsorship of the Trans-Am Series, the ‘Clean-Up Award’ and the Rapid Response Team will maximize race fans’ exposure to Simple Green while allowing us to give back to the public in a variety of ways—from helping improve emergency response efficiency to environmental clean-up.”

The Trans-Am Series’ Simple Green Clean-Up Award will be a $2,500 cash bonus that goes to a driver who “cleans-up” at any single race weekend by earning the pole position, posting the fastest race lap, leading the most laps and winning the race. The Simple Green Clean-Up Award bonus will accumulate from consecutive races without a Clean-Up winner, offering a potential single-race bonus payout in excess of $27,000.

The Rapid Response Team is comprised of hand-picked doctors, rescue specialists and nurses trained in complicated field rescue and trauma situations. Outfitted with Simple Green uniforms, the Simple Green Rapid Response Team will continue to provide consistent medical care to Trans-Am’s family of racers, crew, support staff, family, sponsor representatives and all others that travel the race circuit. The team works in unison with local medical staffs, addressing all aspects of an event's emergency plan and responding to all medical and emergency situations that arise.

“We are excited that Simple Green will again be part of the Trans-Am Series,” said PSG vice president of marketing Bob Wild. “Last season, Simple Green’s Clean-Up Award was won for the first time by Kenny Wilden (#40 YO Ranch Chevrolet Camaro) at Laguna Seca, resulting in a record winner’s puse. Simple Green’s continued support of the series makes them an integral part of Trans-Am racing in 2001.”

As Official Cleaner Degreaser, Simple Green will provide select course marshals with uniforms, set up environmentally safe parts washer stations in the Trans-Am Series paddock and display its Mobile Environmental Education Center.

Simple Green is headquartered in Huntington Harbour, Calif., with satellite offices all over the world. Simple Green is manufactured in Garden Grove, Calif., Lawrenceville, Ga., New Zealand and Switzerland. Simple Green has distribution centers in Honolulu, Hawaii, France and Australia, and sales offices in Chicago, Ill. and Philadelphia, Pa.
