Adopt America Creates Comprehensive National Marketing Program With KB Motorsports and the ASA Racing Series

TOLEDO, Ohio- Officials from Adopt America Network and KB Motorsports have announced they will combine forces in order to educate American race fans about the 100,000-plus special needs children currently awaiting adoption in the UnitedStates. The program will focus on the teams ASA Racing Series entry driven by Kenny Phillips, who will compete for the Pat Schauer Rookie of the Year Award.

"We have assembled a totally integrated marketing program that is centered around the race car and the race team," said Charles Krall, public relations director for KB Motorsports. "Not only will we put an Adopt America Racing car on the track every week in ASA competition, but we plan on working with other ASA teams and sponsors to create local market promotions for the kids. That really is the reason why we are in this, to help these kids."

Plans include to implement several Adopt America Family Fun Days during the year. This program will include utilizing a local go-kart track to hold races for the kids, inviting the children and families to come to the races and giving them a tour of the pit and garage area on race morning, along with a number of other opportunities.

Adopt America Network was founded in 1983 and is based in Toledo, OH. In the past 17 years, Adopt America has helped more than 1,800 children find permanent, loving homes.

"There are so many wonderful benefits to getting involved with ASA," said Edieann Didham, president of Adopt America. "We are very excited about the national exposure and the live television coverage by TNN: The National Network. But what we are most excited about is the increased opportunity to help children. We think this program will create enough visibility to put our cause at the forefront in a lot of peoples minds."

KB Motorsports has committed to run the first three events on the ASA ACDelco Series schedule, and plans on competing in all 20 series events after securing financing.

"While I am excited about all aspects of the program, one aspect excites me more than any other," said Krall. "If we are fortunate enough to receive enough funding to compete full time in 2001, the team owner Mike Kern has committed to donating 100 percentof the teams winnings directly to Adopt America."

Phillips is equally excited at the possibilities in front of the KB Motorsports team during 2001.

"I have always wanted to be a part of a highly visible and competitive program in a series like ASA," Phillips said. "The Adopt America program can potentially become one of the most visible programs in American short track racing and I am honored to be apart of it. I know the KB Motorsports team will do its very best to give Adopt America a competitive product on the race track."
