ASA: Tires.com to Sponsor ASAs First Trip to California

BFGoodrich Tires retailer e-commerce website steps up as ASA visits West Coast

PENDLETON, Ind.--Tires.com will serve as sponsor of the March 10 American Speed Association event at Irwindale Speedway in Irwindale, Calif. The Tires.com 300 presented by BFGoodrich Tires will be the second of 20 events on the 2001 ASAschedule. The event is the first appearance on the West Coast in the series 34-year history.

Tires.com is the e-commerce website of Discount Tire Company and Americas Tire Company. Discount Tire locations are scattered throughout the United States, and Americas Tire locations are centered on the West Coast. The 2001 ASA season will see Gary St. Amant return in an attempt to repeat his dominating performance of 2000, which earned him his second ASA National Championship in three years. Several other veterans, including 2000 ASA Rookie of the Year Joey Clanton,Mike Garvey, Scott Hansen, Kevin Cywinski and Butch Miller will look to dethrone the champ as ASA embarks on a second season utilizing the fuel-injected Vortec ASA 5700 engine and BFGoodrich Traction T/A radial tire.
