FAIRFIELD, N.J.--Driver Paul Dana is set to contest the
2001 U.S. F2000 National Championship. Dana will drive a 2001 Van
Diemen/Quicksilver campaigned by AIM Autosport out of Toronto. Sponsorship
for the program comes from Forsythe Racing, CAPCO Abrasives and Klein
Tools.
Additional sponsorship will be announced in the near future."I can't even begin to describe how excited I am about this opportunity," said Dana. "This program has been in the making for over two years, and it's been hard to be patient during that time. But I think the patience has paid off. I couldn't be happier with the sponsors, the team - everything. I'm psyched!
"Jerry Forsythe really got this whole thing rolling by believing in me. I can't thank him enough. His help is what convinced Klein Tools and CAPCO to step up. I'm also really excited to work with Ian Willis and AIM Autosport. I've known Ian since I started racing in Canada in 1995 and I've tested in F2000 with him. He's a total pro and he knows how to win."
"We are extremely pleased to have signed Paul to our F2000 program," said AIM Autosport team principal Ian Willis. "We tested Paul a few seasons ago and we were quite pleased with the results. We've been following his progress in Skip Barber ever since and have been trying to put together a program for him. I think we'll have a good shot at Rookie of the Year."
"We are also proud to represent Forsythe Racing in F2000," said Willis. "Jerry Forsythe has a long tradition of success and a history of supporting young drivers, and we look forward to partnering with him to develop Dana's career."
