HARRISBURG, N.C. - Jeff Gordon will start 2001 in the
passenger seat -- as Regis Philbin's co-host on "Live with Regis" on
January 15.
Gordon, a three-time NASCAR Winston Cup champion, has appeared as a guest on "Live with Regis and Kathie Lee," but this will be his daytime talk show host debut.
"I'm excited about this opportunity," said Gordon, driver of the No. 24 DuPont Chevrolet. "Brooke and I watch the show whenever possible and I'm truly honored to even be considered as a co-host.
"I really don't know what to expect. I just want to have fun and enjoy it. Regis is a pro and it's amazing how he can connect with each of the different co-hosts."
Since longtime co-host Kathie Lee Gifford's departure, 10-time Emmy Award nominee Philbin has used more than 50 co-hosts including Don Rickles, Jon Stewart, Chevy Chase, Sisqo and Alec Baldwin.
"Live with Regis" is in its 13th year of syndication and is second only to "The Oprah Show" in daytime talk show ratings. Check local listings for time and channel.
