INDIANAPOLIS- Indy Racing veteran Mark Dismore was invited to return to the True Value International Race of Champions, putting a record four Northern Light Series drivers in auto racings annual all-star series in 2001.

Dismore, from Greenfield, Ind., will participate in the four-race True Value IROC series for the second consecutive year. He will join fellow Indy Racing Northern Light Series standouts Buddy Lazier, Scott Goodyear and Eddie Cheever Jr. in the 12-driver field.

"Im very excited to be invited back to IROC," Dismore said. "Its one of racings greatest privileges, and Im proud to represent the Northern Light Series again."

No more than three Northern Light Series drivers had participated in the True Value IROC series in one season before 2001.

In the True Value IROC series, 12 top drivers from different types of motorsports compete in identically prepared IROC Pontiac Firebird Trans Am stock cars at four different venues. The 2001 series will start Feb. 16 at Daytona International Speedway and end Aug. 4 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Dismore, who drives for Kelley Racing in the Northern Light Series, finished 12th in his debut True Value IROC season in 2000. He led six laps at the final round of the series at Indianapolis.

"I think my experience last year will be invaluable," Dismore said. "Last year, the NASCAR guys didnt know me, and I didnt know the cars or most of the tracks. This year, I know how to save the tires, know the tracks better and know the driving style needed for success in these cars.

"I feel much better going into this seasons IROC championship than at the same time last year."
