WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Fans attending the 2001 T. Wayne Robertson NASCAR Winston Cup Preview at the Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Winston-Salem will be able to obtain autograph session wristbands beginning at 9 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 5, 2001. The 12th annual T. Wayne Robertson NASCAR Winston Cup Preview is set for Saturday, Jan. 6.

"We want to do everything we can to make this event better for the fans," said Preview Director Mark Freidinger. "There is a finite number of autographs a driver can sign in a two-hour period. By allowing race fans to get wristbands the night before the event, they shouldn't have to spend the night in line outside the building."

Fans will be able to obtain wristbands in the LJVM atrium area, which will remain open until approximately 10 a.m. or until all the wristbands have been distributed. Doors open for the 12th annual T. Wayne Robertson NASCAR Winston Cup Preview at 8:30 a.m., with the first driver autograph session starting at 9 a.m.

As in years past, fans must obtain color-coded wristbands for 14 designated drivers in order to attend that driver's autograph session. Wristbands will be available for the first 400 people wishing to meet these predetermined drivers.

The following drivers require wristbands: Dale Earnhardt, Ward Burton, Mark Martin, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Jeff Gordon, Bobby Labonte, Jeff Burton, Rusty Wallace, Bill Elliott, Dale Jarrett, Ricky Rudd, Kyle Petty, Darrell Waltrip and Tony Stewart.

Preview attendees do not need wristbands to attend the autograph session of any driver not previously mentioned. People with a wristband will be allowed to visit the autograph areas of drivers not requiring wristbands. (more)

Attendees must have a valid ticket in order to obtain a driver wristband and only one wristband per person. Children age 12 and under do not need tickets to receive a wristband, but must be accompanied by a paying adult and obtain the same driver wristband as their guardian.

Tickets for the 2001 T. Wayne Robertson NASCAR Winston Cup Preview are available through the Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum (in person or by mail) or Ticketmaster at (336) 722-6400. Tickets are $15 for adults. Children under the age of 12 will be admitted free with a paying adult.
