CART: Klein Tools Joins Team Motorola as Associate Sponsor

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.-Klein Tools, the world's leading producer of professional grade hand tools and protective equipment, announced today that it will serve as an associate sponsor of Team Motorola for the 2001 season. The familiar Klein Tools logo will be displayed on the Motorola Honda-Reynard entered by Team Green and driven by 1991 CART champion Michael Andretti in the 2001 CART FedEx Championship Series.

Based in Chicago, Klein Tools is a family-owned and operated company which has been in business since 1857, designing, developing, producing and marketing world wide the quality tools and trade protective equipment needed by trade professionals to earn a living. The company, which initially grew as the premier plier manufacturer for the telecommunications and electrical industries, has since broadened its product line to include most of the major types of hand tools used in the construction, electronics, mining, electrical communication and other fields.

Klein Tools, which employs more than 1,000 people nationwide, began its association with Team Green in 1994 to support the marketing efforts of its distributorships in key markets. The partnership with Team Green has flourished over the last seven years, including the past five years as a major associate sponsor, resulting in an overall increase in domestic and international exposure for Klein Tools and its products.

Klein Tools' association with Team Green has led to the development of products specifically designed for the motor racing industry including spark plug pliers and protective wheel gun covers utilized by CART, Indy Racing League and Indy Lights teams as well as selected sports car teams including Panoz Racing. Klein Tools has also designed and manufactured a variety of towing/safety straps and debris buckets used by the renowned CART Safety Team at every event in the FedEx, Dayton Indy Lights and KOOL/Toyota Atlantic Championships.
