SCCA: 2001 Speedvision World Challenge Schedule Revised

ENGLEWOOD, Colo.--The Speedvision World Challenge has released a revision to its 2001 season schedule, initially announced September 29.

The originally scheduled date of July 6-8 at Le Circuit Mont Tremblant has moved to August 24-26 in conjunction with the American Le Mans Series weekend. That brings the total number of weekends in conjunction with the ALMS to eight.

Initially scheduled as 10-race championships, both the Speedvision GT and Touring Car Championships will compete at all 11 events on the schedule.

Additionally, the May 18-20 Mosport International Raceway weekend and the San Diego Grand Prix (date now TBA) have been confirmed as BFGoodrich Tires Trans-Am Series events as well.

  • May 25-28 Lime Rock Park, Lakeville, Conn. Grand-Am
  • July 20-22 Sears Point Raceway, Sonoma, Calif. ALMS/Trans-Am
  • Aug. 3-5 Portland International Raceway, Portland, Ore. ALMS/Trans-Am
  • Aug. 24-26 Le Circuit Mont Tremblant, St. Jovite, Quebec, Canada ALMS
  • Sept. 7-9 Laguna Seca Raceway, Monterey, Calif. ALMS/Trans-Am
  • Oct. 4-6 Road Atlanta, Braselton, Ga. ALMS
  • Oct. 19-21 Lowes Motor Speedway, Charlotte, N.C. ALMS
