HAMPTON, GA: NASCAR officials wasted little time in
postponing the NAPA 500, the final race on the 2000 race schedule.
Steady rains in the Atlanta area force dthe postponement. NASCAR made
the annoncement at 1:15 p.m. EST, just 45 minutes after the scheduled
start time of 12:30 p.m. EST.
The new time for the NAPA 500 is 10:15 a.m. EST.
The ARCA support race which was postponed Saturday was originally rescheduled for 10:00 a.m. Monday. That race has been rescheduled to start following the NASCAR Winston Cup race Monday afternoon.
According to weather forecasts, partly sunny skies and cool temperatures will cover the Atlanta area Monday.
