ARCA: Foyt fastest in ARCA Atlanta practice

Hampton GA- Larry Foyt, in his father AJ's Harrah's
Casino
Pontiac, posted the fastest lap in practice here Thursday at the Atlanta
Motor Speedway prior to 1st round qualifying for the ARCA Georgia Boot
400. Foyt toured the 1.54-mile superspeedway at 190.052 mph which
unofficially broke the one-lap track record of 188.021 set last year by
Derrick Gilchrist. Shawna Robinson was second quickest at 189.649 ahead
of Scott Wimmer, who checked in third quickest in a Bill Davis Pontiac
at 188.828. Tim Steele, also unofficially under the track record, went
188.578 while AJ Alsup rounded out the top-five fastest qualifiers at
188.411. However, 1st Round Qualifying scheduled for 2 PM was rained out
and has been rescheduled for Friday at 8:30 AM.REMAINING PRACTICE SPEEDS:
