"I'm looking forward to returning to Atlanta Motor Speedway and racing in front of the hometown fans. I believe the fact that we tested at the track last week and that I've run three Winston Cup races at the track will help us to have a solid outing." --Buckshot Jones

Homecoming...

A native of Tucker, Ga., Jones will attempt to qualify for his 17th career Winston Cup Series race. Atlanta Motor Speedway was the site for Jones' first career Winston Cup start in November of 1997. Jones made his last Winston Cup start at AMS last November, where he finished 26th after starting 11th.

The Equipment...

Jones will be piloting a brand new Pontiac Grand Prix this weekend in Atlanta. The team will be utilizing a Hendrick chassis and Hendrick engine, both of which were tested at Atlanta Motor Speedway last week.

Crew Chief Gary Cogswell's Take On Atlanta...

"Although we didn't get as much time on the track as we would've liked because of the weather, I think we learned enough to establish a decent baseline for qualifying," Cogswell said. "I'm confident with Buckshot's experience at the track and our testing results that we should be pretty good right off the truck."

Primary Sponsor...

Crown Fiber Communications will be the primary sponsor for Jones this weekend. Crown Fiber Communications, Inc., has supported the Buckshot Racing team since the team was established. Based in Atlanta and started in 1988 by team owner Billy Jones, Crown Fiber is a fiber optic construction company which installs fiber optic and coaxial cable for television and telephone companies anywhere in the United States.

Next Season...

Jones will drive the No. 44 Georgia-Pacific Dodge Intrepid for Petty Enterprises next season in the NASCAR Winston Cup Series.
